On 31 October 2023, H.E. Secretary General Shi Zhongjun of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) called on H.E. Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh, who is scheduled to soon leave her post, at the Embassy of the Lao PDR in Beijing.
Secretary General Shi extended heartfelt appreciation to the precious trust and strong support rendered by Ambassador Khamphao to the ACC in recent years, and her contribution to promoting mutually beneficial cooperation and friendly exchanges between Laos and China as well as among ASEAN Member States and China. He stressed that, with the Lao PDR taking over the rotating chairmanship of ASEAN in 2024, the ACC will keep even closer communication with the Embassy of Laos in Beijing and jointly carry out more activities in the purpose of advancing regional development and prosperity, and bringing ASEAN-China comprehensive strategic partnership to a new high.
Ambassador Khamphao fondly recalled her memorable tenure in Beijing, especially participating various activities sponsored by the ACC in recent years. She sang high praise for the active and productive role played by the ACC in implementing the important consensus among ASEAN and Chinese leaders and enhancing practical cooperation and friendly exchanges between both sides. She stressed that the Lao Embassy in Beijing will stay committed to partnering with the ACC in the latter’s future endeavors in bringing both Laos-China and ASEAN-China relations even closer.
