The ACC Hosts Delegation of Chinese Universities

On the afternoon of 9 November 2023, representatives from over 20 Chinese universities, organized by the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange (CCIPE) of the Chinese Ministry of Education, visited the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC). Deputy Director Ms. Li Yaying of the Education, Culture and Tourism Division (ECTD) of the ACC, Deputy Director-General Mr. Cao Diefeng of CCIPE as well as education counsellors and officials from the embassies of ASEAN Member States (AMS) joined the event.  

In her welcoming remarks, Ms. Li Yaying introduced major initiatives of the ACC in promoting education cooperation between ASEAN and China, such as the events during the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week (CAECW), ASEAN-China Youth Forum and ASEAN-China Centre Education Network (ACC-EduNet). She reaffirmed the ACC’s commitment in strengthening pragmatic cooperation, information sharing as well as youth exchanges in the area of education.

Deputy Director-General Cao Diefeng of CCIPE, President&CEO Sun Zhongwen of Harbour Education and Vice President Chen Zhiguo of Hunan University of Humanities, Science and Technology spoke on behalf of the delegation. They expressed their strong willingness to work together with the ACC as well as AMS embassies to organize upgraded events in 2024, so as to further enhance education exchanges and cooperation between China and AMS.

The participants from the Chinese delegation had in-depth exchanges with education officials from Indonesia, Lao PDR, Viet Nam and the Philippines on further promoting ASEAN-China youth global competence and strengthening mutual cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.
