The Republic of the Union of Myanmar locates in the west of Indo-China Peninsula and covers an area of 676,578 square kilometres. It has a population of 54.17 million (2022). The capital is Nay Pyi Taw. Each ethnic group has its own language, among which the Kachin, Kayin (Karen), Shan and Mon have written languages. The currency is Kyat.
