From 13 to 15 August 2024, Secretary General Shi Zhongjun of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) accompanied a group of nearly 100 ASEAN guests, including Union Minister Dr. Thet Thet Khine of Hotels and Tourism of Myanmar, Minister Neth Pheaktra for Information of Cambodia, Secretary of State Kung Phoak of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, Secretary of State Prak Phannara of Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia, Special Envoy Benito Gosiaco Techico of the Philippine President to China for Trade, Investment and Tourism and other representatives from the Embassies of ASEAN Member States (AMS) and business, media and youth circles, on a tour of the cities in Shanxi Province including Taiyuan, Changzhi and Jinzhong. The visiting ASEAN guests were deeply impressed by the Shanxi version of the Chinese civilization and the magnificent resources of intangible cultural heritage.
The Tour took the visiting guests to some local key enterprises such as High-tech Huaye Electronic Group Company Ltd., Victory Automobile Manufacturing Company Ltd. and Honghai Glass Company Ltd., experiencing Shanxi’s remarkable achievements in smart manufacturing and the concrete cooperation between the Chinese companies and their counterparts of the countries along the "Belt and Road". They also visited the Pingyao Ancient City, Jinci Museum and Donghu Vinegar Garden, which helped the visitors acquire an in-depth understanding of the conservation of intangible cultural heritage by Shanxi and experience the vigor and dynamism of the Chinese culture.
