On 19 September 2024, the Cambodia-China Tourism Forum 2024 under the theme “Revitalizing Chinese Tourism Market to Cambodia: Challenges, Perspectives and Recommendations” was successfully held in Siem Reap of Cambodia. On behalf of Secretary General Shi Zhongjun of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), Director Hadi Tjahjono of Education, Culture and Tourism Division attended and addressed the Forum. Secretary of State Prak Phannara of the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia, Vice Governor Dy Rado of Siem Reap Province and Minister Counsellor Chen Cong of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia also spoke at the opening ceremony. Nearly 300 participants from ASEAN and Chinese government sectors, business associations, enterprises and think tanks were present at the event.
Director Hadi shared the ACC’s perspectives on boosting ASEAN-China tourism market and briefed the audience on the ACC’s work in promoting tourism development and people-to-people exchanges between China and ASEAN. He also elaborated on a variety of measures taken by both sides after the pandemic to stimulate the recovery of tourism industry in the region and promote China-Cambodia tourism cooperation in particular.
