On 15 October 2024, Secretary General Shi Zhongjun of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) met with Secretary General You Xiaowen of the Lancang-Mekong Integrated Law Enforcement and Security Cooperation Center (LMLECC) at the ACC Secretariat. Both sides exchanged views on future cooperation.
You Xiaowen expressed high appreciation to the important role played by the ACC in bridging ASEAN-China regional cooperation and development, and stressed that the LMLECC looks forward to strengthening communication and cooperation with the ACC to carry out training programs on tourism security capacity building for AMS and China, to enhance regional tourism security and promote the recovery and development of regional tourism.
Shi Zhongjun pointed out that the leaders of AMS and China have decided to continue to designate 2025 as the “ASEAN-China Year of People-to-people Exchanges” and the ACC will continue to deepen people-to-people exchanges between both sides. The ACC hopes to actively explore potential cooperation with the LMLECC in the field of tourism safety and security, and strive for early harvests soon.
