SG Shi Zhongjun Meets the Former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand

On 27 October 2024, Secretary General Shi Zhongjun of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) met with the delegation led by the former Deputy Prime Minister Phongthep Thepkanjana of Thailand and both sides exchanged views on strengthening practical cooperation and promoting people-to-people exchanges. 

Shi Zhongjun briefed them on the mandate and achievements of the ACC. He said that Thailand and China are as close as one family. Both countries are good neighbors, good friends and good partners. The economic and trade cooperation between both sides has laid a solid foundation for strong momentum and bright prospect. The year 2025 will mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China. The ACC is ready to build more effective platforms to facilitate cooperation between both countries in such fields as economy, trade, culture, education and tourism.

Phongthep Thepkanjana appreciated the constructive role played by the ACC in promoting ASEAN-China cooperation in various fields. He looked forward to further strengthening connectivity and tightening people-to-people bonds so as to jointly explore diversified and beneficial modes of cooperation.
