Secretary General Shi Zhongjun Welcomes Thai Ambassador Chatchai at the ACC

On 10 January 2025, Secretary General Shi Zhongjun of the ASEAN-China Center (ACC) celebrated the New Year with Ambassador Chatchai Viriyavejakul of Thailand to China and the Thai Embassy diplomats at the ACC. 

Both sides took stock of the fruitful achievements made in 2024 through the joint efforts by the ACC and the Thai Embassy in fostering friendly exchanges and practical cooperation between ASEAN and China, as well as between Thailand and China. Shi Zhongjun briefed the Thai side on the ACC’s work plans in 2025 while Ambassador Chachai spoke highly of the ACC’s firm commitment to and concrete actions in enhancing practical cooperation and people-to-people connectivity between ASEAN Member States and China. Looking ahead, both sides agreed to make the most of both ASEAN-China Year of People-to-people Exchanges and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China in 2025, further strengthen communication and coordination, and advance cooperation in such areas as tourism, trade, investment, and SMEs development, so as to better contribute to the building of ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and a community with a shared future between Thailand and China.
