On 19 January 2025, H.E. Secretary General Shi Zhongjun of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) was invited to attend and address the 24th Meeting of ASEAN Plus Three (24th M-ATM+3) Tourism Ministers in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. The meeting was co-chaired by Malaysia and the Republic of Korea (ROK) and attended by Tourism ministers from 10 ASEAN Member States and Timor-Leste plus China, Japan, ROK and three ASEAN centres, namely the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), the ASEAN-Japan Centre (AJC) and the ASEAN-Korea Centre (AKC).
In his speech, SG Shi reviewed the ACC's efforts to promote bilateral tourism exchanges and cooperation between China and ASEAN Member States (AMS) in 2024 and introduced the planned activities in 2025 under the framework of the "ASEAN-China Year of People-to-people Exchanges". He reaffirmed the ACC’s commitment to supporting and cooperating with AMS and the dedication to achieve common prosperity and development in this region.
The 24th Meeting of ASEAN Plus Three Tourism Ministers convened under the theme “Unity in Motion, Shaping ASEAN’s Tourism Tomorrow.” The delegates discussed efforts and guidance to further enhance ASEAN Plus Three Tourism Cooperation. The meeting also confirmed the Philippines and Japan to be the co-chairmanship of the 25th Meeting of ASEAN Plus Three Tourism Ministers.
